Mission Statement

Therapeutic Body Concepts is dedicated to providing the instruction & development skills necessary to become a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the state of Texas.

Our goal is to provide a detailed understanding of the human anatomy & physiology and to ensure proper application of massage techniques. Student (s) are prepared to sit for the state exam which is governed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In addition, to follow the state laws and regulations governing massage therapists.

 
Employment Opportunities

A career as a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the state of Texas offers the student the flexibility to practice massage therapy on either a part-time or full-time basis.

To maintain the licensing once a student becomes a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) the state requires a $117.00 fee and 12 hours of Continuing Education (CE) for two (2) years.

Learn the skill of massage therapy while you continue to work. The basic level I class allows you to enhance your current healthcare or personal services profession.

Curriculum


Class Structure

Basic Level I consists of 500 clock hours which includes both theory and practical application.

Swedish Massage Techniques 200 hours
Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology 165 hours
Hydrotherapy 15 hours
Business Ethics/Practices 10 hours
Health/Hygiene 20 hours
Professional Related Topics 30 hours
Internship 40 hours
TOTAL 500 HOURS

 

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES TO FIT BUSY LIFESTYLES

Day Classes 2X per Week 9:00 am to 1:30 pm (13 Months)
Evening Classes 2X per Week 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm (13 Months)

Week-end Classes 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Alternating week-ends ( 8 Months)

Day Classes 3X per week 9:00 am to 1:30 pm (8 Months)
Afternoon Classes 3X per week 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm (8 Months)
Evening Classes 3X per week 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm (8 Months)

Advanced 100 Clock Hour Course Tier II (Pre-requisite Basic Level I )

Class Segment Description

Lecture is the first part of the class. Instructor’s are friendly & ready to help the student(s) learn by using various methods & teaching aids.
After lecture, the student then has a break. In the second part of class, the student go into practical application of the massage techniques. When possible the Instructor will tie the Lecture portion of the class to the Practical segment. The student(s) then pair off & work in the bay areas: one (1) student works as the Therapist and the other is the Client. Halfway through the practical segment student switches places. Each time you come to class you give a massage & you receive a massage.

Student Internship Program

Student works a shift
All appointments are scheduled & verified by the front desk
Semi-private bays are used by students creating a professional work environment
All supplies for Internship massages is provided by the school.

Cost includes everything that the Student needs for class except for a set of scrubs that are required to be worn while in the facility. On average cost is $17 on the tops and $17 on the bottoms.

Alcohol Gel is provided in the classroom areas for
disinfecting hands.
All the Biotone cream is used during the course &
Internship massages.

To register for any of the classes offered the student will be required to make the first payment listed.

Monthly Payment plans are available
Major Credit Cards, checks, cash, certified check or money order are all accepted for payments.
Tuition & Fees cover everything that the student needs for class except for a set of Scrubs that you are required to be worn to class.
No Transcript will be released before the final payment is made.
